HockeyCat Rink Information

Amenities: The Raleigh Iceplex has ample parking, Olympic Size Ice Rink, game room, banquet area, conference area, and a snack bar. The Pro Shop is the best at any rink in the Triangle.

Locker Rooms: The player locker rooms are large enough to hold about 20 adult skaters.

Seating:Seating is limited to non-existent. Be prepared to stand

Ice: The ice is in very good condition.

Cleanliness:The facility is kept clean. Numerous camps and other activities do not seem to prevent the facility from being one of the cleaner ice rinks.

Pro Shop: The Pro Shop is amazing. By any standard, it is well stocked, maintained and staffed. While I was there doing anonymous background, a woman came in looking for a special stick for her daughter. The Iceplex Pro Shop was the only place in the area she could find it. If you break a composite stick or need a blade replaced, there is usually someone on sight to take care of you. Russ Damron, Hockey Director, says the skate sharpening is some of the best in the area.

Overall: The Raleigh IcePlex is a great facility. The Olympic size rink creates a unique experience for youth and adult players alike. The House Hockey program is completely independent and the Travel program is run by Impact Gym and Athletics (The Raleigh North Stars). Overall, the Pro Shop sets this facility apart. It is a hockey equipment catalogue come to life.

Directions: Call the IcePlex for detailed directions from your location. It is near everything, but still hard to find for out of towners.
